EBGB - Events

EBGB ~ the underground wine bar truly is underground, originally conceived by wine industry veteran Montgomery Paulsen to compliment Pat Paulsen Vineyards and Sour Grapes consulting services. Monty wanted to provide his consulting clients with a true tasting bar environment when doing business and offer a venue to hold special events. Teaming with his wine muse Gigi Benson, they set off to make EBGB the new "Go To" hot spot in the blossoming Pacific Cannery "Live to Work" artist community. Designing the cornerstone loft with a classic Bauhaus bent Gigi set the stage with some whimsical surprises where their friends from Napa to Black Rock City could mix and mingle.

When the economy went South they expanded their scope by inviting local artists and guest vintners to weekly tastings, classes, and special events celebrating everything from Black History Month to Bastille Day, asking only for a "contribution" to the venture from attending guests. With theatrical, marketing, and business backgrounds it was only a matter of time before they started a theatre promoting their passion for the arts on all fronts and have a special wine just for theatrical venues, Roar of the Crowd which contributes to performing artists through out the Bay Area.
